Steve Easterday-McPadden responded to God's call to ministry after a successful 10-year career in Electric Power Engineering.  He, his wife Kim, and their four children--the twins still in diapers-- left Thornton, CO in July of 1996 to attend Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY.  He graduated with a Masters of Divinity in May of 2000, but in no way mastering the divine.

After graduation, Steve and the family took their first appointment as Associate Pastor at First UMC Durango.  He spent five fruitful years in music ministry (leading the Adult Choir, two Praise Teams, the Youth Praise Band, and Children's Music before Sunday School), as the "chaplain" to 30-some children and staff at the preschool there, as Coordinator of Congregational Care, Youth Ministry, and assorted other opportunities to serve God and God's people.  During that time, Steve was ordained an Elder in the Rocky Mountain Conference of the United Methodist Church (June, 2003), bringing to completion a journey that had begun seven years before.  Thanks be to God!

In July of 2005 the family moved to Longmont, CO where Pastor Steve was appointed to Longs Peak UMC, where he served as Lead Pastor until June, 2012.

Pastor Steve and Kim have four young adult children in various stages of "life building".  Their older daughter, Carly, is married to high school sweetheart Brent Vayre and is pursuing a career in nursing in Lafayette, Colorado.  Their younger daughter, Daryl, graduated from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado in May of 2013 with a B.S. in Physics and is currently a Ph.D. student at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.  And their twin boys, Peter and Isaac, are successfully negotiating Bachelors degrees in science-related fields at nearby CU-Boulder, where Pastor Steve and Kim met while students there in the early '80's.

In July of 2012, the couple moved to Fort Collins where Pastor Steve assumed the responsibilities of Senior Pastor at First UMC Fort Collins, following Rev. Dr. Charles Schuster, a now-retired colleague he greatly respects and admires. Pastor Steve is active within the community as well as the Peaks and Plains District and the Rocky Mountain Conference.
