Mother's Day and Confirmation Sunday, May 10th

This coming Sunday, we're celebrating Mother's Day and Confirmation Sunday at Ft. Collins First United Methodist.  Rev. David Dalke is preaching and will be involving the Confirmation students in worship.  David always does a great job presenting the message, and this Sunday will certainly be no exception, I'm sure.  His  sermon  title  is
"(Cherish) Motherhood and (Savor) Apple Pie" (paren's intentional).  I'm wondering if he'll be handing out a nice, plump piece of apple pie to all the Moms in worship on Sunday!

Our Confirmation students have been preparing for 16 weeks for this major stepping out in faith in their lives.  Sam Hastings, our Youth Director, has been working with them, and he and I were really blessed to spend 24 hours with them on retreat in late March exploring the meaning of Confirmation.  They're a great bunch of students, and we're really fortunate to have them taking this step of faith into young adulthood as they profess their faith in Christ and their intention to live closer to the Gospel.

And...if that's not enough, we also have baptisms at both the 9:15 and 10:45 AM services, so we've got a lot going on in worship that you will want to be a part of.  What a joyful season this Easter is!  I hope you'll be a part of this coming Sunday with us and celebrate the signs of God's life in our midst.

Steve
