Hi All,
I wanted to let you know that I will not be leading worship for the next couple of weeks. My wife and I will be moving the younger of our two daughters to Miami, FL for grad school; we start out on a 2,500 mile drive tomorrow (6/26).
Rev. Bryson Lillie will be leading worship and preaching at the traditional services this coming Sunday, June 30th. It will be his last Sunday with us for a few months, as he begins his responsibilities at the Wellington United Methodist campus on July 7th. This is something the leaders of both congregations have sensed as being Spirit-led at this time, and there is a great deal of excitement as we move forward in that direction.
Rev. Rebecca McFee will be leading worship and preaching at the traditional services on Sunday, July 7th. I am grateful to her (and to Bryson) for her gifts and skills in worship and church leadership so that I can be a part of this truly important time in my family's life.
I will return to the pulpit on Sunday, July 14th where I will resume our "pSummer in the pSalms" series with an exploration of Psalm 121: "I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?", one of my favorites.
Have a great couple of weeks and a joyous (and safe) July 4th celebration. It would do us all well to consider what "independence" means in light of our interdependence on one another and our dependence on God. God's blessings to you all,
Pastor Steve
